It’s Hard to Trust God

It’s so hard to trust in God sometimes. I know it’s a challenge for me to trust that God is going to come through on some things in my life. I believe in God of course but I can not seem to hold onto “nothing is impossible for God.” You wanna know why it’s so hard to trust God? Because we are impatient. Let’s admit it, we want things to work out on our time when we should believe in God’s time.
There’s plenty of times where I just wanted to get out of situations quickly whether it was a guy problem, a toxic friendship, college situations like an unreasonable teacher, roommates, or even my grades. I wanted to drop a class because it was getting too hard. Sometimes I would succeed at dropping the class and most of the time not so much.
What does this have to do with anything Chelle?
I want you to know that you shouldn’t run away from your problems whether it’s financial, work, school and etc. You must trust the process because this temporary situation will lead you to a better place in your life.
Are there any ways that we can learn to trust God?
Praying – If we stay in prayer and tell him how we are feeling about these situations, He can comfort us with His voice and maybe tell us “be still and know that I am God.” He may tell us what he wants us to do while we wait to get out of this situation. From experience, He always tells me that “it’ll be okay or it will get better.” Now, honestly I would love to hear more than that, but it still is nice to hear God tell me that things will be okay.
Reading the Bible – Digging into our Word will comfort our hearts and help us trust God more from the incredibly written scriptures. Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” It’s basically saying that I should not fear because God will strengthen me so that I can get through this.
child-945422_640Get out of your head – Negative thoughts can cloud our minds with “I won’t make it through this day because I’m fatigued.” , “I can’t pass this class. It’s too hard!” The enemy puts these negative thoughts in front of our minds so we can start to believe there is no way out of a situation. We have to get out of our heads and have faith in God even when the enemy attempts to tear our minds apart.
Be Positive – Be positive even when things are not looking the way you want them. I’m personally trying to be positive about this class I’m not doing so well in. I like to say in my mind “I can do it!” We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil.4:13)Put it in your head that you are gonna be okay and you will make it!
positive-2470506_640Fasting – I know you’re like “no I gotta eat, or I’m gonna die”! No, you will be fine. I believe fasting is a great way to learn to trust God because if you surround yourself with a Bible, sermons, and Christian music, there’s no way you can’t learn to trust God. If you’re new to fasting, fast for an hour or two. That’s not bad, right?
Sermons– As I’ve gotten older, I’ve really begun to enjoy sermons. I enjoy watching pastors on Youtube. Personally, I believe listening to pastors motivate me to do better. Sermons also help me trust that God is going to change my life for the better no matter what I am currently struggling with.
Those are some of my tips on how we can learn to trust God. No matter what you are going through, God is always going to be there at the end. Again it is tough to trust God, but if we become invested in Him, then we will trust Him more. This is one of the ways where being a Christian isn’t easy. Trust me I understand!
Let me encourage you.  If you’re having financial issues, know that God will provide if you put your trust in Him. If you’re struggling in school, do the best that you can, and God will get you through it. Sometimes we have to meet God halfway for Him to fix our situations.
If you’re in a financial crisis and you are spending money all the time on unnecessary things, how can God help you when you’re not trying to carefully spend? If you’re in school and you are not studying, how can God help you pass a test if you never reviewed your notes for the test? Understand what I’m saying? Let’s learn to trust God together but also try our best to be patient in our challenging situations!
Thank you guys for reading! Let’s talk in the comment section. Tell me how do you learn to trust in God?
Prayer: Lord help us to put our trust in You! Take away our anxious thoughts and help us to be still and know that you are God. We know that you love us and want what’s best for us. Help us to act like we know that Lord Jesus! Keep our minds fixed on you and diminish the negative thoughts that enter our minds. In Jesus name, Amen!
Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto own understanding.

I go back and forth with trusting God. Some days I am positive and other days it’s a major struggle. I always come back to believing He is in charge.

Very well said. You’re such a good writer. I especially love that you point us to our Bibles. So often we forget that in hard times. That’s where we get our strength and direction. Took me years to learn that. 🙂

What an important reminder! I know that I struggle to trust God. Even when I feel the Holy Ghost moving me in a certain direction, I second guess myself and start to wonder if indeed God pushing me! I personally find it helpful to go outside and just sit in nature. All the flowers and trees rely solely on God and so should we. Thank you for a wonderful read!

I’m sure we all struggle trusting God. I question if the Holy Ghost is actually speaking to me sometimes. That’s good idea to enjoy nature. I never thought of it that way.
