Don’t Be Afraid to Be A Leader

Everywhere we go in our world, there’s a leader. There’s the President who leads the USA. There are governors that are leaders in each state. Leaders are important in our world. God may have called you to be a leader in your community. Whether it’s a pastor, a leader of a women’s ministry, leading small groups and so many more.

Do you ever find yourself taking the lead in projects? Do you feel like you’re called to be a leader of a group or mentor someone? These are signs that God is calling you to lead. There are many possibilities that He could be calling you to a group or someone, but it depends on what you’re drawn to. Maybe you’re drawn to lead young girls to become Women of God. Maybe you’re drawn to lead young adults to become better with their finances. Who knows? The possibilities are endless with God.

In the Bible, God called a lot of people to lead, for example, Moses, Joshua, and our favorite Jesus! If you’re called to be a leader, do not be afraid! Don’t worry about how people will perceive you. Don’t worry about if people will laugh at the way you sound. Don’t even worry if you stutter because God can teach you how to be a good leader. He taught Moses and he didn’t know how to speak. What makes you think God can’t teach you how to lead His people?

We need leaders in our community, for the children, young women and men, and even elders. You’re not God because you’re a leader. You can’t do what God can do, however, you can steer people in the right direction. Leaders help us become better people when God uses them.  Unfortunately, every leader isn’t a good leader. There are leaders that are not on God’s side and they are dictators. When you’re being used by God, you will become a better leader for the community.

Maybe you’re shy and don’t feel like you could step up to leadership or maybe you’re embarrassed by your voice. You’ve been picked on so many times in your youth, you don’t think you can handle the taunting in your adulthood. Listen, it’s time to let go and forgive those who hurt you in the past about your voice. God wants to use you in a mighty way! He wants you to train those young girls to become young ladies. How can you do that when you’re still haunted by your past? Give your past to God and lead if He’s called you to be a leader.

Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

God is going ahead of you to create a path as you lead His people to a better future. A lot of people need a leader or a mentor in this world. Foster kids are struggling with abandonment, yearning for someone to love them, and teach them to become better. Could you be that person for them? You never know until you let go of that fear of feeling like you’re not good enough!

One of my favorite verses Psalms 139:14 says that “you are fearfully and wonderfully made.” God made you in His image, so embrace that in your leadership!

I remember when I felt like I wasn’t good enough to do what God called me to do. I had to let go of the past and the enemy’s voice telling me that I could never do it because blah blah blah. Let go of your past and cut the enemy’s voice out of your ear, so that you can become the leader that God called you to be. Do you think Moses would have been able to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, if he stuck with the excuse that he can’t speak? No, God wouldn’t have been able to help him if he was fearful and made excuses.

God will not force you to walk into your calling. He’s a God that’s never forceful, however, He continues to put it on your heart until you’re ready to do what He wants. There are people that have been running from their purpose for 8 years and they are now getting the point to do God’s work. I feel like if God has been putting on your heart to lead, speak to Him so you can start the journey. Be obedient to His will for your life. Those “bad” children are waiting for your obedience to lead them, so go ahead and do it. Have a chat with God so He can tell you how to get started.

Stop running from leadership because of your fears. God did not put that fear in you! That’s only the enemy. You know why the enemy wants you to be fearful? Your leadership role for those children or your community will put the devil out of business. He knows once those girls are trained by a Woman of God, those children will become Women of God as well. The enemy wants communities, children, elders and anybody else under godly leadership to be stuck in bondage forever. Ohhhh, but if you do your part and be a leader, you’re going to release those people out of bondage because of your godly leadership.

Do your part and be a godly leader! Fear has no place in your heart, mind, or spirit because Your GOD is so BIG and so intelligent! He knows WHERE He wants you to lead and He knows WHO He wants you to lead! Trust God’s path and lead who He’s calling you to with your head held up high!

I hope that this blessed you! If you’re a current leader or called to be a leader, I pray that this post encourages you to walk in your calling with Jesus! God’s got you! Enjoy your week and weekend! I love you all! Thank you for reading and sharing!
