It’s Preparation Time

Many times, we want things to happen in our life. We pray and fast for what we want God to do for and through us, but we don’t prepare for those things. We just expect God to drop our desires in our laps and that’s it. But, that is not how a relationship with God should be. We should be praying and fasting for what we desire for God to do, and then prepare for it.

In 1 Chronicles 22, David was in the midst of building a temple for the Lord, but God did not want him to build it. He wanted his son Solomon to build it for Him because David had done what the Lord had asked of Him (1 Chr.22:7-12). There’s a particular verse that I want to hone on in 1 Chr.22 which is verse 5, “Now David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparations for it.”

So David made abundant preparations before his death.” David started preparing for his son Solomon to be king before he became of age. What can we prepare for right now in our lives? Maybe a new job? A new house? It doesn’t have to be materialistic. You could prepare to gain wisdom on a business decision. You can prepare for discernment for a love interest. It’s good to prepare for something before the blessing arrives. When you cook food, you have to prepare it before you throw things in the pot. Your food won’t taste good if you don’t prepare before cooking. Whatever you’re waiting for will not be as great if you don’t prepare for it. Also, your blessing could come faster than you know, and you will not know what to do with it.

Let’s talk about the single ladies, the ones who have never been in a relationship with a guy. How will you maintain a romantic relationship if you’ve never been in one? You prepare yourself before the person comes into your life. You work on yourself mentally, physically, and most importantly spiritually. You learn from other’s relationship mistakes. So, when you enter into that relationship, you won’t expect so much out of him. You won’t feel insecure about his whereabouts because of your past relationships. You won’t think that he’s about to hit you when he’s reaching for a hug. God will heal your heart in a way that you will receive that relationship much better than you were unprepared. You understand what I’m saying?

If Jesus has given you a task, do it now! Don’t wait until the next season. Prepare for it now, so when the next season comes, you won’t be left behind. It’s exactly how Noah prepared to build an ark before the flood came. Everybody was partying and happy. They were laughing at him because of his preparation time. Don’t let anyone hijack you out of your preparation time. Satan can send distractions to throw you off. Keep praying and working on the vision for your life. Tell those distractions to flee. Some people will tell you that you can’t do a certain thing, but God has already equipped you with what you need. Right now, you need to be in preparation mode. Prepare for the speeches for your speaking engagements. Start filming for your YouTube channel. Create those blog posts now. When the Lord allows you to release what He’s told you to do, you will be ready. There are so many scenarios that I can use for preparation.

Preparation is not about just preparing for you. It’s about preparing for the people who are coming behind you. People are going to need that content. People are going to need that video to get them through their hurdles. I’ll let you in on a secret, I prepare all of my blog posts before it is time to release. When people say they needed hear that at this time in their life, it wasn’t because of me, but God allowed me to write on a situation that someone was dealing with before I posted. He’s an on-time God and He’ll use us to be a part of His timely plan.

Let’s say you’re dating, and you are getting to know someone, you should be discerning if this man will be a good father in the future. You should be seeing how he treats his family in the dating phase. If you plan to be married, you want to prepare, in this dating phase, for your future children. Your children will have some of your personality and some of his personality.

We have to get into the habit of preparing for what is to come. Yes, tomorrow is not promised, but there is nothing wrong with preparing for the future. God has prepared all of your steps in your life before you ever entered this Earth. He has planned life and death for all of us. Think about that! If you prepare today, your life could look different 5 years from now. If you start writing a chapter of the book today, you can have a book ready to sell in the next year.

Let’s start preparing for our lives! I hope that this post has encouraged you. I hope that you walk away from this post, starting things that God has put on your heart. Have a great week! I love you all and God loves you sooo much more!

Prayer: Lord we thank You for speaking to us about preparation time. Help us to prepare for the God-given visions that you have placed on our hearts. Help us to prepare for the future. Thank you for showing us that preparing is a good thing through Your Word! We want to prepare our hearts, minds, and Spirits for You! Take us higher in Your Presence Lord! We love You and we want to be a vessel for You! In Jesus name, Amen!

Psalms 25:5 NKJV – Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
